The Malarial Antigen Detection Test is a rapid immunochromatographic test designed to detect specific antigens produced by Plasmodium parasites (the causative agents of malaria) in human blood. It is especially useful for detecting Plasmodium falciparum and Plasmodium vivax, the most common species in India and many other endemic regions.
Key features:
Provides results within 15–20 minutes
Requires only a small blood sample (capillary or venous)
Detects histidine-rich protein II (HRP-II) for P. falciparum and pan-lactate dehydrogenase (pLDH) or aldolase for other species
Suitable for field use, emergency diagnosis, and outbreak screening
