Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology (FNAC) is a simple, safe, and rapid diagnostic procedure used to investigate lumps, nodules, or swellings in various parts of the body—such as the thyroid, breast, lymph nodes, salivary glands, or soft tissues.

A fine, hollow needle is inserted into the suspicious area to extract a small sample of cells. The collected sample is then spread on slides, stained, and examined under a microscope to evaluate:
