ANA Titre by IFA (Antinuclear Antibody Titre by Indirect Immunofluorescence Assay) is a highly sensitive and specific test used to quantify the level of antinuclear antibodies (ANA) in the blood. ANAs are autoantibodies that attack components of the cell nucleus and are commonly seen in autoimmune disorders.
This test not only tells whether ANA is present but also determines the titre (dilution level) at which the antibodies are still detectable, as well as the fluorescence pattern, both of which provide valuable diagnostic information.
Clinical Applications:
🔹 Helps in diagnosing and monitoring:
Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE)
Sjögren’s Syndrome
Systemic Sclerosis (Scleroderma)
Polymyositis / Dermatomyositis
Mixed Connective Tissue Disease (MCTD)
